Veering from panic to exhaustion?
Yeah. That.
Feeling like you are walking around swooping between utter, grinding panic and sorrow and bone-deep exhaustion?
Hearing the same people who said, “Calm down! It won’t be that bad” and the ever-popular, “You’re overreacting” in 2016 saying the same damn thing after they LIVED THROUGH the firehose of horrible visited on the vulnerable, the two year olds with only tinfoil blankets on hard cold concrete, the girls whose periods were tracked by men in our government, the loss of Roe, the Muslim ban, unidentified dudes in vans grabbing people off the street in Portland who turned out to be feds - not to mention abandoning our allies and parsing out help in emergencies based on political favor - or basically any day ending in a “y” for four years?
Trying to figure out what you can actually do to help, protect, save, hide, or whatever your LGBTQ friends, your Black and Brown friends, all the people in the line of fire for whom this is NOT going to go well?
No words of wisdom. Just. . .you are not alone.
